Fr. Daniil Kolesnikov, Rector

  Fr. Daniil Vladimirovich Kolesnikov was born in the city of Prokopyevsk, in the Kemerovo region, into the family of a clergyman, Archpriest Vladimir Terentyevich Kolesnikov. From an early age, he carried out obedience at the church. He is married and has three children.

2005 - 2006: Fr. Daniil served as subdeacon of the Bishop of Prokopyevsk, and Dean of the Kemerovo and Novokuznetsk diocese of Ambrose (Ermakov).

  On July 7, 2010, he was ordained to the rank of deacon by Bishop Aristarkh (Smirnov) of Kemerovo and Novokuznetsk.

  2010 - 2012: Fr. Daniil served as a full-time deacon in the Cathedral of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist in the city of Prokopyevsk and, in 2012, he graduated from the Novokuznetsk Orthodox Theological Seminary.

  On January 15, 2012, he was ordained as a priest and assigned as a full-time clergyman to the Cathedral of the Nativity of John the Baptist in Prokopyevsk.

  In 2016, Fr. Daniil graduated from the St. Petersburg Orthodox Theological Academy and defended his master’s thesis on “The history and content of statutory readings at the All-Night Vigil.” He was then appointed rector of the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in the village of Kudryashovsky, in the Novosibirsk region, and as an assistant for missionary work of the Kolyvan deanery district.

  In January 2022, Fr. Daniil was accepted into the Sochi diocese as a full-time clergyman at the Church of St. John Chrysostom in Sochi. 

  In February 2022, he was appointed assistant for education and catechesis of the Khostinsky deanery district.

  In 2023, he was appointed Assistant to the Head of Interaction with the Cossacks of the Sochi diocese.

Awards:

  ⋄ On May 8, 2013, for dedicated service to the church, Fr. Daniil was awarded the Nabedrennik (a square or rectangular cloth that is worn at the right hip)

  ⋄ On January 9, 2016, he was awarded the Kamilavka (Priest's Hat).

  ⋄ On May 18, 2018, he was awarded the Memorial Badge of the Holy Passion-Bearer Tsar Nicholas II.

  ⋄ On Pascha, May 2, 2021, Fr. Daniil was awarded the Pectoral Cross.
